Betting Jinx hits the College Bowls....poor Boise State backers.

The betting jinx can appear in may different ways....A fumbe late in a game, a horrible call by a ref, a field goal bouncing off the post or a "pick 6" when your team has the game put away. Sunday night, Boise State experienced a betting jinx one year in the making. Remember that unbelieveable Oklahoma vs. Boise State bowl last year....well so did everyone who bet Boise State Sunday night.

Boise State -10.5 vs. East Carolina Sunday night in the Hawaii Bowl looked like easy money to many football bettors. This is due the "Public Perception" betting jinx that is the main reason why bookies will always beat "joe public".

The average peron who paricipates in football betting does not have the time to dig into the all the College Bowl game previews and picks/predictions that are available for every game. All they can do is go by some simple stats, W/L records and the public perception they have of a team. With 80% of people betting this bowl game Sunday night taking Boise State, the people "in the know" jumped all over East Carolina. With a 41-38 final giving East Carolina the win, the "public perception" betting jinx struck again.
